3RD Marking Period

In this marking period we are going to use Google Sketch Up to create amazing figures. While using Sketch Up we are going to learn how to use the Rectangular tool, Push/Pull tool, Line tool, Orbit, Tape Measurement, Paint Bucket, Offset, Arc, Dimensions, Standard Views, and Eraser. All those tool make our work easier. The rectangular tool make specific dimensions. The push/pull make your figures 3D. Line tool create lines. The Orbit rotate your figure 360 degrees. The tape measurement make a guide line to the exact measurement that you want. The Paint Bucket paint your figures with different colors by giving you different categories of textures. Offset make a replica of your line or arc, but it can be smaller or bigger. Dimensions give you the exact dimensions of your figure. Standard views give you different prospectives of your creation. To finalize, the only tool that can erase your errors to create a wonderful figure is the ERASER.

23: 3D House

To do this house I use Google sketch Up. To create the base of the house I made a rectangle and I used the push/pull to create the form of the house. Then I did the roof by using the pencil to get the inclination. To create the door I placed another rectangle in the base and then I used the push/pull to push the wall back. I did the same to the window. After having the space for the doors and windows, I   made the frame. To finalize the house I added some detailed such as the fences, car, person, and colors to make it more realistic.

To create a 3D House I use Adobe Photoshop.
  • First open Adobe Photoshop and create a new file.
  •  Then create a new layer and call it foreground.
  •  The foreground layer will be the 3D layer, while the background is going to be the 2D layer. The 2D layer will add the illusion of depth to the image.
  • In the background add the image of your choices and in the foreground add the house or object that is going to be 3D.
  • Now, duplicate the foreground layer and  name the new layer "Red".
  •  Nudge the "Red" layer to the right or to the left.
  • Double click on the "Red" layer and uncheck the "G" and "B" channels.
  • Do the same thing to the Foreground layer, but this time only uncheck the "R" channel.

25: POWER BUTTON

To do this power button I use Adobe Photoshop.

  • Fist, add gradient to the background.
  • Then, create two circles and add different effects to them as we use to do on the First marking period.
  • Now that you have the button complete search for a power symbol.
  • Add some effect to the symbol.
  • create another group and change the color of the power symbol.
  • Hide the effect group leaving the other group visible then go to the animation panel “Window > Animation”, the animation panel should appear at the bottom of the canvas, select the little grey arrow on the right hand side then select “Convert To Frame Animation”.
  • In the animation window select “Duplicate Frame”, the first frame should have the normal state of the button with the glowing group hidden. On frame two you should have the normal state of the button group hidden and the glowing group visible. Simply use the normal way of hiding and unhiding the layers with the little eye button on the layer.
  •  Now select both frames by clicking whilst holding down the “Ctrl Key” on the keyboard, once both frames are selected select the little grey arrow again and select “Tween”.
  • When you press OK you will have 5 new layers containing the animation, if you press play you can see the animation in action. At the end of the animation you will notice how it jumps back to the beginning. To make the animation seamless select all 7 layers.

Showcase Sony console

I created a Showcase using Adobe Photoshop. To do a showcase you need to use the Rectangular Marquee Tool, Rectangle Tool, Elliptical Marquee Tool, and different gradients to make the effects of the lights. To create the base of the showcase, I had use guides lines to create the perfect set for the showcase. Go to View and Rulers to state those guide lines. After you have the 5 rectangles go to Edit- Transform-and-Perspective to adjust the corners of the rectangles in the outside. Perspective made the inside corners to become 3D corners. At this point I added different  Layer Styles to make the showcase 3D alike. To create the illumination I used the Elliptical Marquee Tool, then I change the opacity and I added Gaussian Blur to make it softer.  To finalize, I search for a model for the showcase, After I had 3 different sides or angles of the object I opened then. Now that the images are open I eliminate the background by selecting the image and selecting inverse. Now that I have inverse the selection, I copy and paste the image in the Showcase. If their is any kind of mistake in the image, I use the eraser to eliminate it.

#11 Flyer made with Photoshop skills

I created a Flyer for my after school program with Adobe Photoshop. You can do the same by following some STEPS:

  1. Go to Adobe Photoshop and create a canvas 4 x 6 with 200 resolution.
  2. Now Use the Gradient Tool to fill the background with color.
  3. Switch to the Text Tool to add the information of the club, program, group etc...
  4.  After adding all the information in different layers, go to each text  to add some effect.
  5. For the text you can  use Drop shadow,  outer glow to make it pop, Stroke, Gradient Overlay, and Bevel and Emboss to obtain my results.
  6. For the Images I use Outer Glow and Inner Glow.
  7. Also when I added the images they had a white background that didn't go with my Flyer, so I use the Magic Wand to select the White parts and delete them
  8. To Finalize save the Flyer as a .PSD and .JPEG

#13: Mimicking the Change one thing Poster

To do this poster I used Adobe Photoshop
First I open a new file in Adobe Photoshop with a canvas of 6x4 with 300 resolution.
Then I applied a solid background with a color of my choice. Third, I got a picture of Coca Cola and another one of an orange juice. Fourth, I use the Magnetic lasso to select the inner part of the bottle. Fifth, I when to edit and I selected Copy Merged. After that I open the picture of the juice and I unblocked the layer. Now I used the move tool to place the picture of the juice atop of the Coca Cola picture. I when to layer and press inverse then, delete. For a more realistic look I changed the opacity of the juice and I erased the part that cover the logo of Coca Cola. To be more professional, I used drop shadow and outer glow to make it pop.  To Finalize, I searched for some informations to add it into poster.
The NYC Food Bank Logo was used solely for educational purpose. No Copy Right Infringement was intended.

     18: USB Drive

To create a USB drive you have to use Adobe Illustrator. The main details that make this USB drive realistic are the shape and the gradients that work together to create a master piece. Also the direction of the light can affect the USB. The fusion of the colors in the different dimensions make the USB pop out  of the 2D dimension. The angles, locations, and opacities produce different effects, which simulates the reflection of light on the USB. Also the Offset Path add a deep surface to the shapes. Overall the procedures of making an USB is very complicated and a single error can make a huge different.

19A: Draw your name in Adobe Illustrator

For this assignment I use different shapes to create my name.We did this in class as a preparation for the test which is a phone. To combine the shapes as one, I intersect the shapes and I press the combination button on the right side of Adobe Illustrator. After I wrote my name, I added different shapes to decorate the background.

************************************************

As I told you in the last project, this assignment also is going to be a preparation for the test.
In this assignment we did the menu buttons of a phone in Adobe Illustrator.
First create a rectangle, and round the conners of it.
After that create a circle that cover the rectangle from top to bottom
(don't cover the rounded comers.).
Now remove the area that is cover by the circle.
For this step use the rectangle tool to create another rectangle that goes from side to side.
Attach the rectangle to the figure and delete all the part selected, and that's all.

20: Phone

This phone was created in Adobe Illustrator. The assignment was divided into 5 days because is very LONG!!!
The process of creating a Phone is base on the use different shapes and gradients. Some Tools that can be use to make a phone are  Effects, Strokes, Pen Tool, Text Tool, and Offset Path, besides this tools there are others that complete the phone.
I will post all the steps one by one in a lapse of 5 days.
  • The first day- I created a rounded rectangle, and I added offset path to create a similar double rectangle, but smaller.
  • Then I added a linear gradient.
  • After that I set 2 offset path to adde a 3D sensation to the phone, and later on I added gradient to the layer.
